My first career was a desk job. I was a graphic artist sitting for 7 hours a day hunched, working at a computer. As a result, over the years, my neck, shoulders and lower back gradually caused me more and more pain and I began receiving regular massage. I was amazed at how much better I felt. The wheels began to turn and I decided to switch careers. In 2005 I graduated from the Potomac Massage Therapy Institute with extensive training in swedish and deep tissue, then pursued continuing education in hot stone massage, reflexology, trigger point therapy and medical massage.
I began my massage career at a high-end spa where I encountered people suffering from stress and the muscle tension and aches associated with living and working in a busy metropolitan area. Later at a wellness center I focused on medical massage gaining experience working on a wide variety of clients with a wide variety of issues. In 2012 I began my own massage practice. I do events, outcalls and have an office in my home.
I love my job. I take the time to sit and talk with you, to understand your needs and goals. I integrate a variety of bodywork techniques to address your individual patterns of pain, tension, or discomfort blending soothing quality spa work with deep effective healing. I am happy to share recommendations for self-care between sessions, based on what I find during your massage session.
